Sanctuary Cap Cana, All-Inclusive Adult Resort

We stayed for one week during April 2022 to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We have travelled to DR 5x prior to this vacation. The resort is beautifully manicured and maintained. We stayed at the Castle in an ocean facing suite - the room was large and comfortable. We were given a butler, Jorge, who did a great job checking in on us and scheduling our dinners. The Ocean Bar and small pool area within the castle was great and they served premium alcohol there. The pool area is very fun - we met a lot of other guests and hung out with other couples everyday we were there. The beach is a little small for a resort this size - but we enjoyed going into the water. The sand is very fine, so sometimes the water can get a little murky. The staff do a good job at cleaning the seaweeds. Some of the maintenance crew even got us fresh coconuts from the trees and cut them open for a refreshing drink - do remember to tip the guys if you get one. The nightly entertainment was entertaining. We also went to the Pub bar nightclub one night and danced the whole time. We had some craft cocktails the first night at Love Bar which were so good! I thought they would have them every night but to our disappointment we only saw them on our first night. My only concern was food. I wish there was more selection of restaurants than the few they had for dinner choices. We also were looking forward to Dominican food but they only had ONE night of Dominican food. I loved the chivo from that night though! Breakfast was a bit repetitive but this is common at most all inclusives. The Blue Marlin was our favorite restaurant for lunch - great Tuna tartar and fried whole fish. Definitely stop by there if you are a fan of seafood. Beach side burgers were also tasty. What sets this resort apart is the entire staff. We are so thankful to them for taking care of our every need during our stay. We are a gay couple - so we are always concerned about how the staff will receive us. But we were treated the same way as any other guests, so other LGBT couples - do not be concerned about booking here! Thanks again to our butler Jorge, Laury at the castle reception for her friendly smile, Jennifer our breakfast hostess, Felix, Happy boy Miguel, and Juan from the entertainment crew. We created beautiful lifelong memories and met a lot of great friends on this trip
