Iberostar Grand Bavaro Adults Only – All Inclusive

Rooms: classically decorated rooms - we had an ocean view room with a very nice view over the pools and gardens - don't expect a frontal ocean view - we knew this before arrival so no problem at all Grounds: the gardens look amazing - plants pruned to the smallest detail - you can notice the gardeners do their job with lots of pride - lots of space Pools: Activity pool and 3 other free style pools - one of them with pool bar In this area, there are quite a few possibilities for improvement. First of all the topic of sun lounger reservations. I understand that this is primarily a case of incredibly inconsiderate guest behavior. Personally we choose 1 sun lounger and we use it all day long. We noticed many guests, taking a chair both at the beach and at the pool (showing up at 15.00 for 15 minutes and sitting at the pool bar the rest of the afternoon). If we notice this, it must be visible for the pool boys as well. Problem is there is only 1 pool boy who is stuck at the towel hut all day long (watching the phone in stead of the pool). Because of jet lag, I was up at 5 in the morning, going for a walk around the pool and many loungers were taken already. In this hotel, even the chairs in the water are reserved with towels and books on them. I have never seen this in any other hotel I have been to. During the time, we were at the hotel, we did have some rain every day and it was pretty windy so it would have been nice to be able to close the curtains of the cabana from time to time. Unfortunately they were all torn apart. A compliment to the ladies taking care of the bathrooms at the pool. At every time of the day, the toilets were super clean. Not obvious for pool side toilets. Restaurants: Great food with lots of choices and variety and this both in the à la carte restaurants or at the buffet. Lunch was even possible in the buffet restaurant, La Perla restaurant at the beach and pool side grill. Beautiful sitting area with amazing views, great drinks and good service at La Perla. This was definitely our favorite. For breakfast the time of a coffee pot on the table in a 5 star hotel is long past. Maybe the hotel could check how their colleagues at the Iberostar Grand Mirador in Tenerife are arranging this. They do a great job. Both the interior and outside sitting area of the buffet restaurant could do with a refurbishment. The outside area is not a very attractive place to sit and enjoy dinner. Entertainment: Fantastic animation team with lots of positive energy. Evening entertainment was amazing and very original. Great musicians, change of location every day, very elegant and no comparison with other hotels offering the classic evening shows. Extra: Butler service is nice but for us not really necessary. We only used the butler service for the restaurant reservations because there is no other way to make reservations and a change of pillow. Both services that can be done by a reception. But in case of problems I can imagine, it is nice to have somebody taking care of you. We did have a great holiday and if we return to Punta Cana, we will certainly return to the Iberostar Grand Bavaro
