Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa – All Inclusive

We had the pleasure of staying at Dreams Onyx from March 26 - April 1 2022. My fiancé and I stayed in a Preferred Club Pool View room, which was lovely. To be honest the room view didn’t matter too much to us, we were in there as little as possible so that we could enjoy everything else! Elias was our butler, and he was amazing. He sent us the daily schedule for both Onyx and Breathless every morning, and he assisted with any restaurant reservations that we needed. He was very quick to respond to messages, and always checked in to make sure we were doing well. Half way through the trip he helped me book one of the private wine cellars for a special dinner when I was planning on proposing to my girlfriend (now fiancé, woohoo!). The cleaning service was good. We learned that as long as you put the green tag on your door knob they will attend to your room every day, and we got turn down service in the evening. The one thing we noticed was that towels were hit and miss. Some days they would take all of our face cloths but not give us new ones, and same with the bath mat. Overall not a big deal. The mini bar in the room was stocked well daily, and if you leave them a little tip they will make sure you get a few extra snacks throughout the week! All of the staff around the pools were amazing. Abraham at the main pool was very friendly and outgoing, and he had great drink recommendations. On the preferred side Eloy was our guy at the bar, he made some great drinks when we requested a surprise and he was always pleasant to talk with. Nellis at the preferred pool was very attentive when we were at our chairs and always checked in to make sure our drinks were full. We didn’t go thirsty. We went to all of the a la cartes, and we were never disappointed. The Duck Confit from the French restaurant was to die for, and is probably the meal I would have again if I could only choose one. We booked an excursion through AmStar in the lobby. We swam with the dolphins and they were able to get us a discount rate and they were very easy to deal with. All of the staff we interacted with were polite, fun and friendly. I don’t remember most of their names unfortunately but we did not have a bad experience with anyone from the grounds staff, the lobby staff, entertainment, serving and everyone in between! The resort and the trip as a whole was amazing. This was my first time in the Dominican Republic, and my first Dreams resort. I would definitely come back to this resort, and I will definitely be looking at other Dreams resorts when I go to other destinations.
